I can’t believe this hasn’t been submitted yet. Tons of people probably already know about this, but I thought it would be helpful to post anyway. This is the best Lil Cal plushie tutorial I have seen anywhere. It is a difficult sewing project, so beware. Here is the finished product:
All credit goes to lishlitz.

Welcome to my HUGE HUGE HUGE tutorial on making a Lil Cal cosplay! I only had the shirt for about two months before finally getting around to figuring this shit out, all the while recording my progress with exactly how it was done. And you are reading it! Hopefully this will give some tips and tricks to people who aren’t really sure where to start.
Under the cut because this shit is LONG.
I suggest either using freezer paper (which you can cut and iron on, just google “freezer paper stencil”) or regular masking tape to make a stencil, then painting the CAL onto it with fabric paint. Really easy to do :) As for your shoes, ive found that permanent marker actually does best for painting plastic parts on shoes. You just have to put on a few layers and do it evenly so you don’t see the streaks!
I get all my non-prescription lenses from here, and I’ve never had a problem. I like this one for a more natural Cal, or these for a more creepy unnatural doll look.
Make sure you check the quantity and the description, because some are sold as a single contact, and some are sold as a pair.
If you have a prescription and are on a small budget, I would recommend wearing your glasses with the cosplay and taking them off for pictures. Prescription contacts should be ordered through your eye doctor, and they can cost $100 or more.
For the rest of the outfit I would check your local costume shop for some pimp accessories and cheap clown makeup to do your cheeks/draw lines on your face. They’re generally not expensive at all. Good luck!
Cool, sounds like a good method! Thanks for sharing! :)
Well for the wings, ive found a few tutorials. This one is for much larger wings than you need but you could probably alter the tutorial to fit your needs. Here’s another one if you can live through the video. As for the best way to do it, I would take an entirely white outfit and add some orange accents to it. Orange paint at the end of the wings, a bit of an orange tint to the outfit, ect. For the sword I would just take a prop sword, cut it in half, then attach one side to a belt in the front and the back, put it under the shirt, and cut the shirt so it shows through. I would also white-makeup your face.
Hope this helps!
