In regards to sealing horns..
… I used clear matte sealant spray (the kind that you can buy in the spray paint section of any hardware store). It was around $6 for a can, and I’ve used it to seal Tavros horns and three prop guns (using three or four coats for each), and there’s still some left.
It makes an invisible, nice-feeling, water-resistant finish, completely seals any paint, and it’s easy as balls to use. I highly recommend it.
