So I’ve seen a lot of troll horn tutorials about making them from scratch and painting them and such. One thing I’ve noticed is that when it comes to sealing the painted and dried horns, Modge Podge is recommended. Now I would not have a clue where to get the stuff but I’ve been using a simple and cheaper alternative for all my horns(And received compliments on the sheen!). 
I simply use clear nail polish!And type will do but I would say using newer and fair quality brands is a bit better. I’ve only used it on smaller horns like Nepeta’s and Karkat’s, one set of horns almost used up a small bottle. You may need more than a couple of bottles for larger horns. Depending on the brand of nail polish you get, it may take an hour to a day to fully dry.
If you were also painting your nails, adding a similar sheen to both your horns and nail could add a nice effect.
