Someone mentioned that this swimsuit was a good choice for Feferi cosplayers who go with the bathing suit type of cosplay. Personally, it’s what I do when cosplaying her, and I’ve used that exact bathing suit but found a number of problems with it.

First of all, it’s low cut in the back. That would mean either having to either put make up on your back (which uses quite a bit of make up and can also ruin your wig, even when properly sealed) or putting on a tank top beneath it so that more of your back is covered. The tank top method is what I did last time, and aside from it making me look a little bulkier, it worked pretty well. Plus, it made it much easier to attach and hide where I pinned my armsocks to my shoulders. In addition, bathroom breaks were easier because, well, with the arm socks attached to the tank top, the bathing suit can be slipped off more easily.

Still, one can always slip a tank top underneath any bathing suit when cosplaying Feferi if that’s something they worry about.

The second problem with this particular bathing suit comes with the fact that it’s ribbed. Now, the fact that the material is textured like that usually doesn’t show up in pictures, but it makes painting Feferi’s symbol on a lot harder because not only are you working with a stretchy material that will crack the paint, but you’re working with a texture that has to be meticulously painted on in order to look clean and not sloppy. I would usually say to just iron on the symbol, but I’ve read that you can’t iron lycra or spandex, and I’m not about to go testing that, plus, an iron on probably wouldn’t work well with the ribbing.

If you want a good bathing suit for Fef, I’d recommend something closer to this and just colouring in the white edges with maybe black fabric paint or even just sharpie-ing them in.
